CEO: Rostelecom, Tele2 to unite retail chains into single firm
MOSCOW, May 19 (PRIME) -- Russian state-controlled telecom operator Rostelecom and mobile operator T2 RTK Holding, working under brand Tele2 and fully belonging to Rostelecom, will merge their retail chains into a single firm, Rostelecom President Mikhail Oseyevsky said on Tuesday during a conference call.
“One of our initiatives we formalized literally last week – we decided to merge retail chains of Rostelecom and Tele2 into a single firm to carry out a unified optimization policy. We believe it will give us a good result, from the point of view of operating and financial results, and the most important thing from the point of view of the quality of our work with clients,” Oseyevsky said.
“I think by the end of the year we’ll be able to speak about the results we’ve achieved on this direction,” he said.
Rostelecom closed a deal in mid-March on consolidation of 100% of Tele2 after buying 55% from a consortium of investors with VTB Bank at the head.
